It was a misty day in late November so we opted to take the Five Mile Loop through the park. It is a beautiful huge metro park with multiple hiking trails near the city.

This park has nearly everything. A zoo where one can actually swim with the sharks. A scenic rocky beach. A wooded trail. A beautiful drive. A dog run. A replica of a colonial fort. Pay to enter the zoo only. There are nearby restaurants, or...More

Tacoma's waterfront parks are the northwest's happy secret. They're more beautiful that those in Seattle and easier to get to. You can rent kayaks, fish, or swim here and it's a short hop to other family activities as well.

Lots of well-marked trails with beautiful views of the Puget Sound. Also a good drive through forested roads.

Beautiful rocky beach! Enjoyed the walk to the beach from zoo and aquarium. The view from the beach was spectacular and the water was refreshing.

Visited in the morning. The weather broke enough for us to tour a few of the gardens on foot and drive around the park. There is a lot to see and do here. It is well worth a visit.

Should be nice, but although they are having a warm rain free summer, some rain any month is the norm, so check out the forecast on accuweather before you go so you are prepared.
