I've walked this park many times. Each time I've been here, I see a variety of birds - eagles, hawks, wild swans, ducks - and on one occasion, I spotted a pileated woodpecker not 20 feet from where I was standing! I've also seen a few deer, but they are all over this area so not that exciting. The walk... More

Steigerwald is our favorite place to go to view wildlife in our area. You can see something new each time you go here. Over several visits and different times of year, you can see eagles, herons, owls, falcons, harriers, turtles, deer, and many other birds. March-April is one of the best times (in my opinion), because the herons set up... More

If you want a nice place for a walk or hike along the Washington side of the Columbia river, this is a nice flat trail. There are a couple different parking lots and trail entry points. If you go far enough East there is a nice wildlife loop, good for spotting birds. The trail also is open for horses but... More

This is easy to miss as you drive by on Highway 14 but well worth the stop. You can learn s lot about local plants and wildlife. It's an easy stroll on well maintained paths.

A peaceful, natural setting for a walk. Family friendly. Or a solitary hike. Access to a longer trail along the Columbia River.

Really pretty surroundings only 15 min out of Camas. We bumped into lots of bird photographers and families. The track is really easy and there's also some educational features which the kids will love. Take a packed lunch and make a day if it 😊

This is an easy 3+ mile gravel trail. We have seen deer, a swan, ducks, geese, Eagles, and other birds on this trail. To get more miles, we usually walk along the dike, along the Columbia River. I highly recommend this trail for beginner hikers or families!

It's a nice long half mile walk from where you park your car to the river with grassland and birds along the way and get a taste of the Columbia River Valley without all the development.

We come here often at all seasons. A lovely walk from the parking lot out to the dike bordering the Columbia River is about a mile each way. There are placards along the way describing the local wildlife, whimsical sculptures of insects, maps, bridges, lilies in the backwater and reflections of clouds. It's different every single time!
