Built in 1924, the home of the Governor of West Virginia is a traditional Georgian colonial mansion with a stately, but somewhat homey, feel. Tours are conducted on Thursday and Friday mornings.

The guide (Royce) was excellent. We made a last minute reservation and he worked hard to fit us in. Worth an hour of your time and next door to excellent museum and statehouse.

I have been to the Governor's Mansion many times! It is very beautiful and historical. A must visit when in Charleston, our Capitol City!! Of Note: You must schedule a tour in advance of your visit.

On the corner of the beautiful W. Va. capitol grounds sits the Govenor's Mansion. Tours are not available to my knowledge, so a picture of a big brick house, 1930's style is all you'll get.
