My husband and I were able to visit the cemetery located right next to the fort. It includes the Prickett family as well as Col. Morgan. It is an active cemetery, we learned. It is in need of tender, loving, care. It contains many stones with no names, perhaps, due to age and weather.

I haven't really been inside to tour but I've heard its fantastic! In the fall it is a great place to take pictures and enjoy a nice walk. In the spring and summer it has a nice trail to walk on to get exercise and be outside.

This is a great place to visit. There is a fort, a visitors center, and several buildings to explore. Check the time of year and the hours of the park. We got there early on a really cold day and the staff was wonderful to open it up early for us to tour the entire site. There is an $8... More

We went to Pricketts Fort Saturday morning and it was a very foggy morning but absolutely beautiful!! Unfortunately the office isn't open on the weekends during this time of year, but being able to walk around and peak through such a historical place was incredible! We loved the eerie scenery😊

Perfect day, weather was gorgeous! Volunteers were in period dress and very open, accessable. Knew the history and was very friendly. Toured Job Prickett's home, caught the tail end of soap making demonstration, also loom, weaving demonstration. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!!

A really interesting and well done site. An interesting story of settlements in the early years of English-American expansion into Indian lands. Lots of banal explanation of crafts- and family life- survival and independence. The whole place however speaks loads about danger and self protection-thus the fort where people huddled in fear in little enclosed spaces. The site-made brick house... More

My daughter and I went to a tea at the old house and it was wonderful. This place is amazing. The staff is so knowledgeable we were so amazed. You can walk around and go inside the building and see how they lived back in the day. We were so glad we went and have become members. What a fun... More

We stopped for 90 minutes and could have stayed longer. Blacksmith shop included the science behind working the metal and the transportation issues the settlers faced. We helped with carding and spinning some wool and learned about how settlers made fabrics. Interesting visit for adults and children.

Prickett's fort State Park has something for everyone and something different for the many times we have come here. You can get on the bike trail here and ride all the way back to Morgantown (and even rent a bike to use). There is a boat launching area to get on to the Monongahela River. There are picnic tables. You... More
