I attended a wedding overlooking the New River and was blown away by the fabulous vistas! The reception was held around the pool that was built to appear as if the rocks from the mountains were used to construct the pool. The guests were seated at tables under canopies around the pool. Guests spent the weekend hiking, zip lining, rafting... More

Awesome place to take the whole family. Rafting trips from mild to wild and so much more. This was my second trip to AOTG. I had previously done the Lower New River and will be returning this fall for the beast of the east, the Upper Gauley. The guides and staff are wonderful, great variety of food, drink, entertainment and... More

My boyfriend and I had never white water rafted before and, being the over thinker that I am, was worried that I had gotten in over my head...literally! I am so glad I put my nerves aside and went on our full day trip down the Lower New River - this was by far the highlight of our week long... More

I went on the adventures on the gorge with my dad and brothers (15 & 13) and they had a total blast! We went with 6 other families. The youngest in our group was 9 and he had a blast too! Perfect for all age groups (depending on if they're good with fast water and can swim okay). Great price... More

Went with a friend in July 2016 to do the Upper Gauley on the New River Gorge with Adventures on the Gorge company. After arriving we checked in and got ourselves situated. When our group was called up, we went to a barn style building and picked out a helmet and a raft. We then took a school bus on... More

Thanks Thirsty! So, for our most challenging trips, you have: the Summer Gauley, the Fall Upper Gauley, the spring Lower New River, and my personal favorite: the Fall Gauley Overnight. That ought to keep you in adrenaline rushes for the foreseeable future, my friend. Jay More

I have rafted several times....but my teenage daughter never had...I wanted a safe but exciting trip for her and this group provided it. The guide on the river was very good and the opportunity for float a season was also interesting. In fact they provided instruction to my daughter and the other newbies that I was proud of...perfect for both... More

I have made two trips here, both during July. Each trip we stayed four days and never ran out of things to do. See their website for all of the options. We stayed with multiple families and grouped off based on interest level of the adventures. The resort is nice but pricey when it all adds up. The first year... More

I have been twice to Adventures on the gorge. The first time just rafting. The second time we did several activities and stayed at the resort. We did the gravity falls zip lining, kayaking, and the timber trek ropes course. The restaurants were pretty good. Smokies was ok but way over priced. I would have like vending machines near the... As we departed camp for the Gauley river put-in, we listened carefully to the safety briefing. Wow - that was an eye-opener. This river can be pretty dangerous. What have we signed up for? But once we got into the raft with Fidge (our very experienced guide), all our fears drained away. He knows the ins & outs of getting... More
