This is a nice stop in between all of the beautiful scenery when traveling this direction. The bathrooms are always clean and the staff working are always kind and very friendly and very informative if you have any questions. A nice place to take a break and have a picnic if you brought one with you.

Nice stop with a great selection of books for all ages, syrups, crafts, animal display and a small but cool bear comparison with real bear fur from each to stroke. Staff friendly. Can purchase pepperoni roll combo also at a good price if hungry. Many trailheads with many miles of long, short, medium or and combination you wish to put... More

The small display area has some hands on displays my grandkids LOVED> a box were they can make animal tracks, a 3D display of the mountains in the area and a display where you guess contents.....scared them a little....but they laughed through it so... Nice center that offers stuffed and live specimens of what animals can be found in the park. Small center, and can feel a bit overwhelming when crowded. They have snacks and drinks available for purchase, plus a water fountain. Clean restrooms. They have a small auditorium with occasional nature talks. Staff is happy to help, even assisted us in finding... More

A gift shop, ehhh. Oh wow, look at all of these snakes! A lot of taxidermy and a lot of live animals available to walk through and see. We got a lot of great information about the surrounding area from the Park Guide. Check the events because there are a lot of activities to attend. If you have the time,... More

I visited and there is a very nice animal exhibit, a small museum, and gift shop. There are free brochures available for local attractions. Also an exhibit of live snakes. Small but nice.

A fairly typical Forest Service nature center. Well maintained, well staffed with knowledgeable and friendly personnel, and a small shop. There are also some short trails here. An excellent place to stop with wildlife and destination questions.

Educational for children as well as adults. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms. We especially enjoyed the topographical map display, as well as the live snake exhibits (seeing them under glass where they cannot get to you is a must for myself), and the children enjoyed seeing the scat display.

Nice interpretive center. The staff were friendly and helpful, pointing out a terrific place for a dry but scenic picnic on the rainy day that we visited. There were a few displays with live snakes from the area, and plenty of information on the local attractions. The visitor center is centrally located, being at the southern start of the Highlands...
