Enjoyed (finally) some Spring weather with an outdoor day at Oglebay Park. Maps of trails are available online, some paved an some dirt/mulch. Moderate difficulty at best. I probably walked around 4.5 miles, passing lake with paddle boats, miniature golf, camps, streams and small falls. Didn't see any wildlife, but noted thousands of tracks in the soft dirt trails. Been going to Oglebay since about 1956. Fist ice skated on the Schenk Lake. Then learned to ski on the small slope there. Took horseback lessons too. Swam in the pool and took tennis lessons Later in life even played music several New Years Eves and Summer Concert Series. Zoo is great for kids too.

Living here we take the park for granted .....Just an incredible place to walk, sit by the lake, or in the winter the fireplaces...grab a hot chocolate or listen to free Chrimstas music each evening...hotel rims or cabins are nice......yes you will pay for all of this but well worth it...

Used to go there often with extended family at Christmas to enjoy the lights. Favorite part was the log cabins and deer outside that visited

No matter when you visit Wheeling WV, there is something to do at Oglebay Park (and it's smaller cousin, Wheeling Park). The winter light show, spring flowers, summer outdoor activities, and fall festivals are all available to be enjoyed for minimal cost. A walkabout visit is possible without spending a dime on entrance or parking. Wheeling Park's Ice rink (winter)... More

It doesn't matter what you want to do, you can do it at Pglebay. Swim, golf, walk under vines trellises, enjoy gardens, rent a cabin, ski, ride horses, sit in front of a fire in a lodge, eat, visit a zoo....there is something for everyone and Wheeling can be very proud of this park.

We had our wedding here! It was truly the most amazing experience ever. Everyone raved about the food and the views were gorgeous! The staff vendors upgraded our room for the wedding night! I highly recommend it here! The views are breathtaking and there's so much to do!

We had a great time celebrating Christmas at Oglebay Park...but second year in a row, I requested a eight foot table for snacks and as usual they forgot our table, even after calling the front desk upon arrival reminding them we had requested the table...Oh well, maybe next year.. :I
