WOW. This hike is like stepping into the world of the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings. It is very lush and green inside, with great rock formations. To really see the best parts you need to go past where it says the trail ends, and it does end, and then you have to carefully climb and maneuver over rocks... More

I can't say anything bad about Parfreys Glen. It was nice and a decent walk. However, it does not match up to other hikes I've done. If you have little kids, this could be a great spot though.

My family began our hike on the far side of the park (from the free access area). The hike was just over two miles and it followed the Ice-Age Trail for a bit. Once we arrived at the main park entrance (after about two miles), we were pleasantly surprised by the partially paved paths. The falls aren't particularly impressive, but... More

The wonder and beauty of glaciation! See what the glaciers (along the Ice Age Trail) have created in south-central Wisconsin. Parfrey's Glen starts out with a meadow and a trail that meanders into rock cliffs and culminates with a small waterfall at the end. A very easy hike for non-hikers, we took our parents (in their 80's). Tons of plants... More

Easy hike. The beginning is a little boring but it gets pretty a little further in. There is a creek you cross by stepping on rocks. Look out for the Giant Hogweed plant and stay away from it. It looks like they have sprayed those that are close to the trail.

Everyone should take a short hike through this gorgeous and breathtaking area of the dells. The hike is very do able even for those who don't normally hike. Just be aware to bring good shoes that can walk over bumpy rocks and some small creeks. The view from the bottom of the glen shows all the beauty of the rocks... More

This is a short easy hike in a narrow gorge with a stream running through it. Very pretty and the sound of the water and birds was enchanting. Near the end there are bluffs with plants growing on the sides of the rock.

A few miles past Devils Lake is a gem of short hike in a glacial gorge. Paved hiking trail gives way to a gorgeous hike through a moss covered gorge that ends at a water fall. You're crawling/stepping over rocks and bolders in a shallow creek with towering walls on either side. Wouldn't recommend doing it with pets or small... More

The hike starts off relatively flat, follows a stream, and ends with some clamoring over boulders and on rocks to avoid getting your feet wet, but well worth it to see the waterfall and narrow glen (canyon) at the end, The temperature drops when in the glen so it is a nice relief on a hot day. There is little... More

Our drive to Parfrey's was 2 hours from our hotel and it was worth it. The most beautiful hike I've had in a while. My 4 yr old also enjoyed it. The sounds of nature were all over. From the river and the sounds of birds singing. Got lots of great pictures. Will go back again!
