Nice relaxing afternoon just reading a book and having the leaves falling around us. The forest floor was a golden yellow. Looks like a nice campground too.

We hiked Nelson Dewey and like the trail overlooking the river. Very quiet place and easy to get around. Not great trail markings but we find that as a drawback at many of the WI State parks.

It gets buggy and humid here, this is the Mississippi River basin, but the View! The four walk-in sites on the bluff have gorgeous views. Reserve early! The park is lightly used, bathrooms were cleaned well daily (if they're dirty it's fellow campers' fault). Even...More

We stayed at Nelson Dewey en route across country. It was easy to find and conveniently located. It was not crowded, and the sites are private. Everything is green and beautiful. There are some great nature trails overlooking the Mississippi River. You can take a...More

We picnicked here and hike a bit. Very beautiful views of the Miss. River. Nice restored prairie - a state natural area - within the park.

If you are camping or just driving through southwestern Wisconsin, Nelson Dewey State Park is a great spot. Picnic, hike, bike, or camp. The views from the bluffs out over the river are grand. Be wary for snakes. There are timber rattlers known to be...More

This is a great park to take the family. Lots of good trails to hike, and very close to the Mississippi River. Chose the sites overlooking the river - you will not be disappointed!

It got very foggy during our visit but what we could see was beautiful. Benches were in perfect locations just wish we would have brought a thermos of coffee to enjoy it a little bit more.

There are the most spectacular views from this park from the top of the bluff. Campsites along the way give the visitor a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, and all the sights, sounds and smell of the country.

The trails are a little hard to find and short, but the views of the Mississippi River from the Mound Point Trail were worth the trip to this small, quiet [except for the trains] State Park. If you visit here, make sure to also visit...More

We weren't in a travel trailer but here's my best recollection: First, none of the electric sites have bluff views...for that try Wyalusing State Park near Prairie du Chien, WI. If the weather is nice--and it changes a lot... More
