Old World Wisconsin is a fun way to experience the lives of immigrants to the Midwest in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Visit one of the ten working farmsteads and chat with the farmer or farm wife. Gather eggs, help in the kitchen or wood shop at the new "Life on the Farm" experience at the Koepsell Farm. Check out the 12 heirloom gardens and heritage breeds of chickens, pigs, sheep, cows, horses and oxen. Wander from farmstead to farmstead on foot or hop a tram--at a little under 600 acres you'll want to plan on at least half a day to explore everything. You can enjoy a snack or a light meal at the Clausing Barn Cafe. Old World Wisconsin is also a special place for a one-of-a-kind wedding, meeting or reunion. Or, learn even more about 19th-century life at a special workshop, day camp or school tour.

On a spur of the moment we went to visit Old World Wisconsin. What a treat it was. The size of the site is much more than I would have ever imagined. We went on a fall day and found the location to be busy everywhere. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and was quick to answer questions. It... More

I am almost not wanting to give this a good review, because I don't want it to become overcrowded, I want to enjoy it myself... on the last 2 weekends of October they have 4 evenings of "Halloween Legends and Lore" and it is soooo worth your time going. The pathways are lit by lanterns and pumpkins, with stops along... More

The tour around Old World Wisconsin was great. The guides or people at each farm were very friendly, extremely knowledgable and took as much time as YOU wanted. I was not able to stump any of them and learned a great deal about the old farms and how the people lived. VERY WELL DONE!

Old World Wisconsin is an awesome place to experience first hand what life was like with out the technology we have today. The Fall Harvest Weekend demonstrates everything from harvesting and butchering the animals, pigs, chickens, geese, to sawing wood using the steam engine. This is a great experience for young and old.

This is a great place for kids (and adults) to learn about different cultures in the past. There are plenty of activities for the kids to try including bike riding, old school yard games, hanging laundry, mowing the lawn and even splitting logs. You can walk the grounds or take a little trolley, as the areas are pretty spaced apart. My... More

We truly enjoy spending an afternoon at Old World Wisconsin. My granddaughter (11) can't wait until she turns 14 so she can work as a volunteer. Great educational adventure. A little on the expensive side, but it serves a great purpose.

We had been to Old World Wisconsin many years ago and our return this year was well worth the time. Though the buildings are somewhat spread apart, the trolley runs about every 15 minutes so we never had to wait long for one. It can be quite a hike without them. Love the re-enactors who knew their stuff. Clean cafe... More

Hop on a trolley. You're transported back in time to explore German, Norwegian, African American, Yankee, Danish culture. Try the homemade soda, see what's cooking in the kitchen (no modern electrical appliances!), walk through the garden, pet the Belgium horses and chase the chickens. Learn your lessons in the Raspberry school. Living history is something everyone can experience, appreciate, and... More
