We did the trail round trip from Sparta to Elroy and back. That was 68 miles. Next time I'll do it one way. Elroy to Sparta is net-downhill and that is the way to go.

I agree with the previous posts - go hybrid. There were many times along the ride that I was thankful to not be on a road bike due to uneven conditions and loose gravel. Enjoy the ride!
