Went here with family, daughter was a bit bored (not into trains or history) but son had the time of his life. For a 6 yr old growing up watching Thomas the train, he went on every train, carriage and anything he could find to look or play on. We even froze our butts off outside so he could see... More

For being a railroad enthusiast, this is one of the best in the country. From special events to wall of signs to stepping into the trains, there has been so many memories of my life from this place. This is probably the only place where I had no bad memories at all. There is just so much history behind it,... More

Made the trek to Green Bay just for this museum and it was well worth it. Brought our 2yr old son and my in-laws - everyone enjoyed it. You start out with a 20 minute video about the big boy then can walk around. Given it is in the middle of winter, we did not venture out to the outdoor... More

The museum has lots of fun events planned throughout the year. October has the Great Pumpkin Patch trainride, there's Terror on the Fox haunted train and house, Polar Express train ride event and also Thomas the Train in the summer. Lots of good history about the trains. There's also a little gift shop filled with goodies for kids. Can't wait... More

Found this on the Green Bay chamber website under things to do. Cold day and we were the only 2 people visiting. Employees were very friendly. Was a neat tour going back in time about the history of the railroads. In door exhibition was neat. You could actually go through some of the train cars and engines. Then there was... More

This museum is not very well known, but is a great place to spend an afternoon. There is a working steam engine that usually runs every hour or so in the warmer months. Kids love it. There are also many trains on display of historical significance - biggest trains, presidential trains, steam engines, electric cars, diesels, etc. They have a... More

I just love this place. It brings me back to a simpler time in my childhood. It's great for kids. The holiday and special events, like Thomas the Train visiting are really nice.

As a family of children and grandchildren we visited this very special place. It just so happened that a presentation of Polar Express was being offered. A wonderful museum which should not be missed if in the area. A happy place with tons of railroad memories. We plan to return to see if we missed anything.

I have never been to the National Railroad Museum before. I got tickets for the Polar Express event there. What a great event! I know I want to go back and see the museum again. Many schools take field trips here...what a great place to see first hand the transportation industry that has been in the USA for a very... More

It's a wonderful place to explore. Allow a lot of time for kids to have fun hopping on and off the trains inside the museum. The winter wonderland takes me back to my childhood when the displays were department store fronts. Can't beat it when Thomas the Train comes to town in the summer. It's must see and ride. Love...
