After the cancellation in 2017, we are looking forward to a great Birkie this year. We live very close to the trail, and watch the skiers cross Lake Hayward toward the downtown finish line. Some still energetic, and some barely continuing on. But not quitting....More

This is the home of the American Birkebeiner, & as such it is amazing. It requires a trail pass, & is well maintained. Only downside is there aren't really any good, lengthy ski loops where you can just park, ski, & be done (it's really...More

Skied from Hayward to OO. The trail was in great shape except for a couple of minor dirt spots and one icy downhill. Lots of uphills!

Amazing experience and lovely views. We made tea in the forest in a safe area and it was awesome. Great spot to enjoy while in Hayward

The Birkie Trail is an excellent trail for hiking, especially in the fall of the year when there are no mosquitos and when the leaves are in full color.

Great event and a great time. The weather was beautiful and the trail was in great shape. I missed the bratwurst after last years race.
