You drive up and see beautiful trees and such on your way up. Once you are there you are able to see all of downtown. It's a god view even on a hazy day.

Grandad Bluff is a short, scenic drive up from the city center of La Crosse. You are able to see all of the city and the Mississippi from the top. The park is free and easily accessible by all, so it is worth a visit!

Beautiful view, well worth the time to stop and walk to the outlook. It was not too strenuous and quite incredible to see. Plus to read the history was nice.

My husband and I went to Granddad Bluff to experience the bluffs and the view...we were not disappointed! Having never seen the Mississippi River before, I could not believe how wide the river was and how much commerce flowed up/downstream. You truly could see forever!...More

Grandad Bluff is especially lovely at sunset: lots of great scenery from the highest vantage point in Lacrosse; Helpful history plaques give historical background about the area, as well.

Definitely a must-see if you are visiting Lacrosse. The views are mesmerizing ! They have made many improvements and it is very well done. If you are afraid of heights the ride up can be nerve-racking in a couple of spots. Go slow. Many people...More

Worth the short drive up there. Day I was there, it was super windy and cool so probably take a jacket unless it is mid summer. The view was beautiful even though it was still winter. Enjoyed walking around the what a really nice pavilion....More

You'll drive to the top and there's a concrete sidewalk that leads to both the shelter and the overlook. In fact, it's handicapped accessible

It is accessible by car. There is a parking lot and a short, easy walk to the overlook. There are also trails from there for those who want to explore further.
