This chapel is part of the convent so access is limited, but worth a stop. A sister provides a tour of the main chapel and the chapel of perpetual adoration. Along the way she provided much information about the founding of the convent, their order and the building of the chapels. The chapels are beautiful examples of the work of... More

Usually one of the sisters will be available to point out the artistic components of the chapel. It has survived a fire and that story is interesting, Local craftsman did much if not all of the carving on the altars.

Mary of the Angels Chapel was built for the community of Franciscan Sisters, so it is not small -- it is large enough to be a Church! The thought and effort put into building the Chapel is inspiring, and there is so much meaning behind the stained glass, the statues, the altar and everything else in the Chapel that one... More

I stopped here on a day when I was feeling very down. I was led into first the church and then the chapel. I felt the peace as well as an emotional release. By the time I left, I felt musher lighter with a renew spirit. What a wonderful experience...

Take the tour. It is amazing. You can even leave a prayer request for the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. So beautiful.

I shouldn't necessarily be reviewing the actual sight. Instead I'd just like to comment on the indifference of the person who did not let us in. We went to visitor entrance minutes after 3:00 on a Saturday. A voice on the intercom immediately asked us what we wanted. At the same time I noted that a sign indicated that tours... More

This is a special place in St. Rose Convent. 132 years of around the clock praying. Worth seeing and being part of the prayer.

You do not have to be Catholic to appreciate this amazing structure in the heartland of America. Built with loving care by Bavarian craftsman over 100 years ago, it is a striking example of the devotion the nuns have for the Lord. They have maintained it beautifully and are happy to give you a tour. It is a site of... More

I live in La Crosse and have participated in a couple tours of this beautiful church with guests. We had a personally guided tour by one of the sisters which was very informative. This church has such a wonderful history and the sisters pray there around the clock. My family has also attended Sunday Mass many times over the years... More

very informtaive, intersting tour led by one of the sisters who lives there. She offered many details about the history of the building, the products used to build it, the trademen who worked there and more. I'm not Catholic so you may get more out of the tour is you are.
