We missed that Sat mass by 1/2 an hour but the sanctuary visit was still worth the climb. There are beautiful gardens and stations of the cross paths. If you need help getting up the hill, they do provide a golf cart ride for you.

Regardless of your religious affiliation, you'll enjoy the architecture, setting and gardens here. The walk up the hill to the Shrine can be challenging, but there is a shuttle that can drive people who may have a hard time with the walk.

Well must see for most people. It's a really neat place and it's free. It is focused on Christianity, Catholic I believe, so if that offends you the probably stick with Riverside Park and Grand Dad's bluff.

Yes! But if you are seeking a plenary indulgence then the normal conditions of prayer for the Pope, Holy Communion, Holy Mass, and detachment from sin still apply.
