Ride the Lumberjack Steam train to Camp 5 Museum Complex. The 15 minute ride takes you over bridges through the woods to the original Logging Camp. There you can explore the Museum of Logging history, the petting corral, nature center, slaughter house, nature trail, original Cracker Barrel Store, the Green Treasurer Forest Tour takes you through the woods. Enjoy a nice lunch at the Choo-Choo hut. Then ride the train back to the depot at the end of the day. Trains depart to camp 5 at 11, 12, 1 and 2pm. The returns run every hour until 4pm.

This excursion was a nice education about the early lumbering heritage of the area. The museum was very interesting as were the other displays at the camp. I was a bit disappointed that the actual train ride was only about five minutes each direction though....More

If I'm not mistaken, this attraction has a AAA GEM rating. Perhaps costume jewelry, but certainly not a gem. How it ever got this rating is beyond me. The steam locomotive and depot are nicely restored. There are restrooms next to the depot. The train...More

The rare Vulcan 2-6-2 steam engine which pushes and pulls this train back and forth to Camp 5 is about as nice-looking and sounding as steam can be. The sound of the whistle of a steam locomotive approaching a crossing is one that is rarely...More

The museum is where the attractions are located, but you must take the train to get there. There's not a lot to do at the station, so try to time your arrival reasonably close to the train's departure time. The train ride is short, but...More

First of all, know that this place is a long way from any where. It's going to take a long drive looking at trees to get there. But once there, we had a wonderful time. We got there just as the train was leaving, but...More

Was a short, but relaxing ride through the woods to the Lumberjack Museum. Fun and something different for kids to enjoy.

Very enlightening travel experience, on a real steam train of yesteryear, the history of the lumberjack days of yore await you as you arrive at the Lumberjack Museum, and you get to ride the train back to the depot.

Now don't get me wrong, this is a unique and interesting venue. But if you're expecting a relaxing train ride through the countryside, you're going to be disappointed. The ride lasts just over five minutes in each direction. They have restored the equipment and depot...More
