Doughboy trail is beautifully maintained - there is a section that is handicapped accessible. Otherwise, a wide crushed stone path with fencing and stairs that take you down to the water level and back up again. People were building stone formations along the waters edge...More

This is a remarkable state park! We hiked three different trails, the best one having the spectacular roaring falls and gorges. There is also an area for camping and a beach for swimming as well as a rustic but flushable toilet and changing house. The...More

1.7 mile hike around the park. Beautiful waterfalls and cliffs. Some rugged stairs to climb along the way so not for anyone with knee problems but it's defintiely worth the hike to see everything. It's in the middle of nowhere but worth the drive. Fun...More

My boys and I did the 1.7 mile loop around the falls. Wow it was pretty. The trail was very well kept and afforded us lovely views of the falls. The park provides placards with information about the history throughout the park. There are also...More

This is a great way to spend an afternoon! My husband and I happened upon this place and decided to stop to see the waterfall. Much to my surprise, there were actually 2 waterfalls and some cascading falls! It was some of the most amazing...More

Loop walk (one hour max) around the gorge (Doughboy Trail) reveals waterfalls of every size: the big, WOWs and gentle flowing water over river rocks. Lots of space for picnics or relaxing. Ice cream, etc. available during summer hours. Optional Park destination is Red Granite...More

Great 1.7 mile hike. Two water falls and incredibly beautiful scenery. The stair can be challenging but the hike is most definitely worth it. $11 for nonresidents of Wisconsin.

My second time visiting. The views of the falls are all around. It is amazing what occurs over time. It is a great place to spend the day with family.

I read most of the reviews before we went, and I agree with most of them. The views were fantastic. If you do the loop to see copper falls first, and the cascades last, I believe the falls get better as you go. With each...More

We hiked all of the trails. Even climbed observation tower. Note: the loop trail leading from tower was overgrown and not very discernible. We went back the way we came. The Red Falls Trail also needed attention. This is one of our favorite WI parks!

I haven't been to Bayfield and only visited Ashland for a part of a day a few years ago. I can't recommend any hotels, but if you are into sightseeing there are lots of things to see in the area.

There are backpacking sites for camping separate from the two campgrounds. There are also a few walk in sites from one of the campgrounds. Just talked with someone who had been fishing. He caught some trout on the river.

This is what the website says about camping. "There are 24 sites with electrical hookups. One is accessible for people with disabilities. Four of the sites are the more secluded walk-in type. For details about each campsite... More
