Took the grandkids for a morning visit. Boardwalk still under construction, shortening our planned walk. Loved the play areas along the way.

This is a great place to walk. Nice paths and trails. It's fun to see the deer, turtles and other animals while walking. The kids like to walk around inside and see the fish and frogs.

If you love nature you will enjoy yourself here. Today I enjoyed the prairie garden area. The flowers are in bloom and as I walked over the bridge and into the area there were lots of butterflies. Plenty of parking. Easy to find location.

Great place to take the grandkids. All the trails are boardwalks so you can walk through the wetlands without getting wet. There is a native population of deer that is not spooked by humans, but remember they are still wild deer so keep your distance...More

Our family has taken numerous walks through Heckrodt, including the visitors center. We enjoy going through the different sections, prairie, river, swamp, woods, etc. There are piebald (partially white) turkeys and deer on the property. The visitors center has a fascinating snapping turtle and lots...More
