This theater always has the best independent films and just those uncommon flicks that are a must see. Great foreign films. Certainly a throwback in time but that is part of the experience. Building is certainly aged but has the right to be.

A bit musty and a long way to the loo. But this place has a history from all the people who've played here before they made it a movie theater.

It is worth the price of admission to a movie to see this beautifully restored theater, although I think they don't mind if people come in for just a look around. Movie palaces were really that, palaces, in the 1920's, and this is a rare...More

One of America's rare movie-theatre treasures. Once upon a time, many theaters built in the 20's and 30's looked like this--inside, it's a Theatrical Oriental extravaganza. Kids really love the elephants! And the Oriental towers outside make it easy to find. Movies are usually art...More

Love that we can see current movies in a movie palace. The red glowing elephants and gilded murals add to the experience. You can get alcoholic beverages and good coffee too, but since this place is surrounded by every kind of bar you could possibly...More

We went here in October to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show and it was completely enjoyable. The theatre is very historic with a excellent screen and delicious popcorn. A must see if in Milwaukee!

Great architectural details and film choices; Not many food choices though. Have to search for street parking so allow enough time.

How I remember the grand theaters just before and after the introduction of Cinemascope--the Bijou, the Coronado, the Rialto, etc. etc. You can have your domestic flat screen ("smart TV"). I'll take the Oriental any day as the right setting for what Orson Welles called...More

This theater is great for watching movies. It is a cool historic movie theater that is a little more pricey than others. I wish there were more screens so more movies could be playing at once.
