One of America's rare movie-theatre treasures. Once upon a time, many theaters built in the 20's and 30's looked like this--inside, it's a Theatrical Oriental extravaganza. Kids really love the elephants! And the Oriental towers outside make it easy to find. Movies are usually art films and Indies--a respite from all the shoot-em-up blow-em up or tear-jerker movie fare. Love that we can see current movies in a movie palace. The red glowing elephants and gilded murals add to the experience. You can get alcoholic beverages and good coffee too, but since this place is surrounded by every kind of bar you could possibly want, I usually save that for afterwards.

We went here in October to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show and it was completely enjoyable. The theatre is very historic with a excellent screen and delicious popcorn. A must see if in Milwaukee!

This is not just a place to watch movies, but a trip back in time. We love coming to the Oriental to watch current releases as well as foreign films. Comfortable, clean, and up to date facilities with the charm of yesteryear. They serve cappuccino and other drinks other than the usual soda.

Great architectural details and film choices; Not many food choices though. Have to search for street parking so allow enough time.

How I remember the grand theaters just before and after the introduction of Cinemascope--the Bijou, the Coronado, the Rialto, etc. etc. You can have your domestic flat screen ("smart TV"). I'll take the Oriental any day as the right setting for what Orson Welles called a "ribbon of dreams."

This theater is great for watching movies. It is a cool historic movie theater that is a little more pricey than others. I wish there were more screens so more movies could be playing at once.

I've been living in Milwaukee for 20+ years and have never been to the Oriental Theater. I've been missing out. What a beautiful theater.

One of the old Milwaukee gems. Love seeing movies there. Decor and the whole atmosphere like nowhere else.

LOVE this beautiful old theatre. It has a magical appeal. They also have the longest running showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show! They serve alcoholic beverages and a variety of foods.
