This place is amazing!! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and kept us interested. I have toured many historic homes and this is the best. The home is in wonderful shape and furnished almost entirely of original pieces. A must see!

Villa Louis is a fascinating piece of Prairie Du Chien history. The two buildings included in the guided tour were full of Dousman family items and very well maintained. Veronica, our young guide, was an absolute gem. She had obviously spent quite a bit of...More

Friends told us about this location; historical mansion and other buildings on an island of the Mississippi River; excellent docent presentation about the surroundings, the family and its history; many of the items are original; very reasonable price

Lovely stately mansion with so much history on the Mississippi River. Great ticket prices and lovely grounds around mansion. Decor is period style and tastefully done.

A lot of great history. Tour was great and we learned a lot about the area. The home is very impressive even for today's standards.

We spent time in the gift store/visitor's center, learning about the history of Villa Louis. The tickets were a bit pricey. We wished we could've walked the grounds without buying tickets.
