Fantastic hiking trails with spectacular vistas and unique habitats, nature programs for the family, Summer concerts, and Winter snowshoe events. Reserveable shelters, and a beautiful outdoor event venue. Driving to the top of Rib Mountain State Park takes you up a gently sloping and winding road for 10 minutes or so. The hour long visit we made carried a $5.00 charge, not sure if a longer visit hits the wallet any harder. Make...More

My son and I went on the ski lift to see all the beauty around us. It was truly amazing. The colors and just the enjoyment of going on a beautiful fall day was great. We got off on top and walked around also which...More

This is my absolute favorite place to hike! It's a daily retreat for a busy mind, a moment in nature with movement and peace! So many trails or paved path, depending on your preference. On top, catch breath-taking views of all of Wausau.

Enjoyed a hike at rib mountain state park. Green and blue trails are easy and paved but not handicapped accessible. The trail is narrow and paved, likely to stem erosion, and there are some steps throughout. Families were out hiking with preschoolers so the blue...More

Only Rib Mountain can show people the wonderful colors of the fall. Grab a sandwich and a soda and just spend a day viewing the colorful leaves.

I've been collecting stamps/badges from every Wisconsin state park I enter. I walked several different trials throughout out the park, I stopped several time to take in the beautiful view, and so many trillium.

Our first surprise was seeing the paved parking path adjacent to the park entry road. What a great thing for the locals to have available! Next we were pleasantly surprised to see the ski area and its runs (even though it was summer). We will...More

This is a State Park with minimal facilities. They do have a small snack shop that is open during busy times but I doubt that it is open now. There are many restaurants nearby the park. This is a great spot to visit to see... More
