Before the renovations started, the Capitol was well worth visiting. After the renovations...who knows? They seem to be gutting everything inside the building. If you walk around the outside and look up, you can see a few spots where at least a portion of an exterior wall has been removed and you can see inside! It's worth visiting now because... More

Probably not the time to tour the capitol: it is having a HUGE remodel. Temporary building & toilets, etc.

The capital building is usually an impressive piece of history and will be again. However, It is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation. The exterior is largely covered up and construction is underway. Probably better to visit next summer.

It is really worth the visit to see the Capitol. Relatively easy access to the building. The displays contain such a rich history of this wonderful western State. There is a lot to be seen, and a chance to see some great history.

I have been to most of the 50 state capitols (37) and this is in top quarter on style and presentation. Drive down Capitol Ave gives a great view of the building even in this renovation process. The north side is fairly obstructed currently but we will be back again to see the building.

Currently under renovation, we were able to drive around the state capitol and take pictures from outside.

Is in the middle of a restoration project to be completed sometime in 2017. The capital is closed to the public

My family is really looking forward to visiting the Capitol after the renovations are complete. We missed not visiting the Wyoming Christmas tree this year!

When this is reopened it will be amazing - until then, there's an exhibit at the Wyoming State Museum about what you would see if you could see inside the Capitol, and some videos about why this renovation is necessary.

What a great place to get a quick summary of Wyoming. It was just the right size. We were able to see everything in a little more than an hour. Free admission but I am sure you'll want to make a donation after you've been there.
