Took my two wild cowboys here for a few hours. So much stuff to see and they couldn't get enough. There is a section for kids that allows them to play and learn about pioneer life. Very interactive and fun. Also has a gift shop with nice gifts very reasonably priced! A must see!

If you're in Cheyenne, stop by this museum. It's free, but they do accept donations at the front desk. (drop something in there!) The displays are very interesting and cover a lot of different subjects, all Wyoming related. There's a hands-on area for kids with fun stuff for them. Been twice and will go again next time in town. Hopefully... More

Waiting for repairs, stopped in, learned it was free and very mellow and relaxing...learn at own pace. It was great to explore and see about history and culture. The boot art out front was great to see and learn about. We geo cached around the museum as well Thank you!

My wife and I make it a point to visit local and state history museums when we’re on our road trips. More often than not, we have been very impressed with the use of displays, artifacts, and narratives used to summarize historical persons, events, and natural features that define a state or community. Our visit to the Wyoming State Museum... More

A relatively small museum that does an adequate job telling the story of Wyoming. Geared more toward school age children, there is no charge for admission but a donation box is available. Again, best for school kids and out of staters.

Settled for state museum because Capitol building is closed for renovations. The museum has a small display of the Capitol but doesn't do it justice. There are only 2 floors and not a whole lot to see. Free admission.

We really enjoyed this museum - wouldn't describe it as small as other reviewers. A thorough look at the exhibits is going to take a couple of hours. The museum has displays covering the area before Wyoming statehood all the way through present day. Better signage would help guide visitors through the middle area of the museum as the exhibits... This Museum is not big compared to others we have visited, but it presents a fairly good idea of the local history, and it's well presented. The staff where friendly, and pleased to see all visitors.

This is a good place to spend an hour and learn a bit about Wyoming's history. It's not huge, but it's got some nice, relevant exhibits. It's also easy to access and get around in.

You can learn a lot about Wyoming history and culture. State has done a great job and it's always nice when an attraction is free.
