The views were good (but only one place prepared for stopping if you come from the Waimea side) and the drive was easy. You can go back by the coast. Landscape totally different than on the rest of the island.
This road goes from Hawi on the northern coast to Waimea in the north central part of the island. It slowly climbs to around 4000 feet and then reverses down toward Waimea. It passes through part of the Parker Ranch land.
