Definitely worth a stop! Wear comfortable shoes. Carry a rain poncho as it can rain all of a sudden on that side of the island.

Akaka Falls are definitely worth the stop. Absolutely gorgeous, and not to much of a walk to get to them!!

Wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy nature. The pathways are well maintained and suitable for all ages. The falls are magnificent. They also have nice washrooms and a picnic area.

Worth the detour. Parking was limited but we easily found a spot outside the gate. It's an easy walk but was hot even in the shade of the trees. It took us about 20 minutes total to walk and take pictures.

Beautiful falls and nice little hike. Park outside of the park to save the 5 dollar parking fee. 1 dollar entrance fee per person is well worth it.

Akaka falls was beautiful and high. You also get to see kahune falls and a few other smaller falls. Beautiful flowers in a rainforest environment.

With the addition of concrete walkways to and from the falls virtually anyone can make the easy stroll from the parking lot to see these amazing falls. Just a few stairs coming and going, but otherwise a fairly flat very well kept stroll through some...More

We visited this waterfall when were touring around the Big Island. You turn off Highway 19 about 12 miles north of Hilo onto Highway 220 at Honomu. It is about 4 miles to the park. It is at the end of the road. Paved all...More

Do the loop - it's less than half a mile and you'll see four or five waterfalls ranging from Akaka Falls - the main attraction at 400 feet - to some much smaller but charming falls.

Beautiful waterfall. Two different hikes the the falls, great wildlife and plants along the way. Can park just outside for no fee.

There is now a $1 entry fee. It’s the best bargain around!
