Cycling around Hilo, I couldn't resist popping in the open door to get a feel for the local church architecture. This is a lovely simple building and testament to the natural ventilation prowess of the Hawaiian designers of old. On a muggy hot day, it was lovely and cool inside this very pretty church.

We dropped in during one of our many walks. Love the massive beams and construction that I believe is over 150 years old. This church has seen it all and survived earthquakes, wind and rain and the charm remains.

The entire staff and parishioners made me feel welcomed and felt like I was home attending church. Parishioners came up to meet and introduced themselves and welcome me to their parish.

The painted walls inside this small church were very interesting and it was the first time we had ever seen a painting of hell inside a church. The wall behind the alter made the samll church look like a cathedral.

Story and paintings were very interesting. Walk thru cemetary was also interesting. Not easy to find. Be patient and enjoy the local scenery.
