He's on the inland side of the highway looking out at the Hilo Bay. I wanted to see him because I looked him up on Honolulu last week as I see him on Hawaii Five-0 every Friday. My surprise was the Honolulu statue is much...More

Even if you just come to see the statue, it's worth it. King Kamehameha stands overlooking Hilo Bay. Be careful which side of the park you come in on. It is a much longer walk over bridges to see the statue if you come from...More

The Wailoa River State Park is a very large area with several unique bridges and a statue of King Kamehameha. It is not the original statue, but still very beautiful. Great place to go and sit for a picnic or just take a walk. Right...More

We stopped her to get out and just take a stretch. A very beautiful place to just wander. Tropical plants all around you and birds everywhere a very peaceful place to just enjoy Hawaii.

A beautiful park not living up to its potential. A result of bad management- they even foolishly defaced their own responsibility- painted the trees. Other criminal activity not controlled well.

Nice place to visit and relax in Hilo. Only problem is mosquitos. Bring your mosquito repellent because they love visitor's blood better than the locals'.

This is a very nice park, full of bridges and beautiful trees, and very scenic. It also has one of Hawaii's four King Kamehameha statues which is definitely worth seeing. However, there is little to do in this park for more than an hour.

My husband and I explored this area during our honeymoon. We enjoyed the views and short walks to Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots. We saw a huge banyan tree at Rainbow Falls. We would definitely return as this attraction was free and had amazing scenery....More
