Such a complicated family history! Fascinating. I loved learning about how the paniola (cowboys) worked the ranch. What a skilled bunch of men they were/are. Definitely watch the video in the reconstructed house. The koa wood that the house is made from is GORGEOUS. No...More

My wife and I recently visited the Parker Ranch Museum on the Big Island of Hawai`i. It was very well done and documented, presenting an enjoyable way to learn some of the history of the Big Island and the ranching operations thereon. It's well worth...More

Beautiful horses and so many colts may greet you at the gate, so don't wait to take a picture! Although pictures are not permitted in Richard Smart's and the original ranch home, it is still a must to see in Waimea.

We enjoyed our visit to the Parker Ranch and actually visited with some of the folks who are currently involved in the ranching/cattle end of the business. It was very interesting!

We first visited the Parker Ranch store in Waimea and were then given directions to the ranch. The visit is free and you can wander the beautiful historic homes, grounds and stable, there was only one other car there while we were visiting.

It was an interesting visit. Two of the historic ranch houses were moved to the Parker Ranch headquarters. There is a film about the ranch that is about 20 minutes long. The main building is the current headquarters and sometimes rooms are unavailable because of...More

Interesting history with lots of memories of the times gone by. Not at all crowded and free. Both the newer home and the original home tell a history unique to cattle ranching. The garage with several horse drawn carriages.
