The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is a 501(c)(3) Scientific and Educational non-profit, whose mission is to serve as a nature preserve and sanctuary, a living seed bank, and a study center for trees and plants of the tropical world. The Garden is dedicated to the collection and display of the world's tropical plants, and to the education of both children and adults about the plight of the world's rainforests. At a time when rainforest plants are disappearing at an alarming rate, the Garden is working to preserve as many species as possible for the benefit of future generations.

A beautiful walk! The plants and sights you will see are breathtaking. The beginning of the walk is a steep decent, so the walk back to parking lot is a steep climb. However, once you get into the gardens, the walk is very easy. Take...More

Go on a sunny day to get better pictures under tall trees. The golf cart ride down the hill was essential for me (71). The paths are easy to use but, even with the golf cart, there is fair amount of walking. There are benches...More

This is well-worth the $15 entrance fee. So many gorgeous flowers, trees, streams, waterfalls. Lots of great spots for pictures!

The road before getting to the place was scenic. The tropical plants and flowers were out of the world. We wish we had more time because we arrived an hour before close. Took a lot of pictures with macro.

Enjoyed this garden. Has a little bit of everything. Amazing ocean view, waterfall, orchids and lush vegetation. It takes about an hour and a half to walk through and is very tranquil. Recommend it in between the waterfalls

Incredibly lush tropic garden, with views of the ocean as well. The 'golf cart' service was great for my 80 year old mom (who has trouble walking up and down inclines). Once we were in the garden, our family (including my mom) really enjoyed the...More

I wish parrots could fly away too however here they are protected from bad people who capture them and sell them in America where they WILL be in jail in someone's home.

Once you leave the main highway it's a little twisty but not a 'scary' road and not for long, it's quite scenic actually.
