The tour was a great introduction to gongfu-style tea tasting and sustainable, organic tea production. Rob and Mike are very knowledgeable and gracious hosts. The tea plants and their culture was very interesting to a couple of former UC Davis Aggies. Lovely setting overlooking Onomea Bay. It was an awesome opportunity to learn more about tea production on the island... More

My sister and I were visiting Hawaii and we're looking for something special to visit. We both love tea and found this written up in a travel magazine. Finding it was a little bit of a challenge but texting and emails were answered quickly. It was a beautiful day, grounds and home, spectacular in fact. The view was unbelievable. Learned... More

I took a group of five (including myself) to visit the Onomea Tea Plantation during a week trip to the big island. One person was a tea enthusiast, one didn't like tea at all, but everyone said afterwards how great the time spent there was. The plantation has spectacular views of Onomea bay, and we got some great pics. But... More

What a wonderful experience. Rob and Mike do an excellent job showing/explaining the tea making process. The tasting was delightful and educational. What a great pair of gentlemen. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We'll be back on our next visit to the Big Island.

The location is spectacular! We had a an informative tour of the property. The tea tasting was a fabulous experience. Whales could be heard and seen breaching while we listened to more on tea and tried several kinds with absolutely delicious homemade scones and spread. Felt very welcomed!

This is a very special, personalized experience for a tea-lover (not sure it would work for someone who wasn't a somewhat aware tea drinker). The setting is spectacular; not only will you learn about tea plants and processing, but you will be guests for a leisurely tasting of the teas produced on site. Allow at least a couple hours for... Mom and stopped for an afternoon of a Tea Plantation after reading an article in the paper. We enjoyed ourselves so much. The owners gave a walking tour of the plantation which explained the growth of complete making of tea. We both have enjoyed teas from around the world. We had no clue of the making/process of the actual tea... More

My sister and I are tea drinkers, no coffee. This place was amazing from the start. Mike and Robs house is fantastic, the setting is glorious, learning about the growing of tea, harvesting, pruning, drying and the whole process was very informative. We both learned a lot. The tea tasting was a modified Chinese style that incorporated your senses into... More

We recently spent the afternoon at the Onomea Tea Company with friends and enjoyed a superb tour of the grounds followed by a multi staged tea tasting event. The tour is really informative, the location is spectacular, and the tea tasting and scones hosted by Rob and Mike is definitely worth the trip.

We did many things on the Big Island from zip lining and helicopter tours to touring the Onomea Tea Farm. Rob and Mike go out of their way to provide a thoughtful, intelligent, and wonderful tea exploration. They guide you through tea farming, processing and then the tea tasting. Every aspect of tea seems to have been covered along with... More
