Love this walk and the beauty of the area. We hope it has recovered from the flooding. Bring flop flops as the parking lot is often muddy.

After 50” of rain fell in 24 hours in Hanalei, the Hanalei River rose quickly and flooded the valley, the Haraguchi Taro Farm, and most of the town of Hanalei. The roaring river, rushing towards the bay and the ocean, carved new pathways through the...More

The Hanalei Pier was destroyed in the 2018 flood. Hanalei bay has some what recovered, but area was hard hit.

Park at the Pavillion, as you can't park near the pier. The ocean was rough and they were still doing salvage recovery in the bay. The beach (water) was closed. The beach is still beautiful and a gorgeous place to watch sunset. Please visit (safely)...More

Nice views from the pier to the Hanalei Beach with adults and kids learning to serf. Place has decent parking, restroom. You also can do a little walk to the river joining the ocean. Note, the beach has pretty shallow water.

This is a beautiful beach in a cove. Drive right up to it and walk on the beach and the pier. Very peaceful and calm waters.

Poorly maintained pier and parking area have turned what should have been a prime destination into a place I wish I had not wasted the time to go see.

This is a nice spot to get some photos. Mountains in the background + water + Hanalei beach + pier = Beautiful..... Now just add some smiling vacationer's and you have perfection

Shallow water and big waves make this a great place to play in the water. The solid, cement pier extends out far enough to get a good look at the waves and surfers.

Yes! Just grab a fishing license! (I am sure you could get away with not getting one but better safe than sorry because there are hefty fines for not having camping/fishing licenses on Kauai)
