Small center with rest rooms and a gift shop. There are a few exhibits. No food offerings or drinks. Good to stop for an overview of what is accessible when you are there. We made the pit stop and got a few books about the volcano. Then we drove to the coast.

Very friendly accommodating Rangers provide info and answer questions. There is a movie about the formation of the Hawaiian Islands and the volcanos followed by a presentation by a Ranger to show and describe all the sites and hiking trails. Wealth of info, recommend if you did pre-planning or did not, you will get valuable info to enhance your visit... More

This was a good Visitor Center and fairly typical of what you find at an attraction such as this. The staff were interested in the place and I noticed one spending time answering questions and explaining about specific features of the place.

I agree with another traveler that the visitor center is a good place to start. You can find whatever information you need to take advantage of what to see at Volcano National Park.

Friendly and informative staff. They give you great ideas to start your visit. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop for some unique souvenir of your trip. The prints of the volcano are spectacular.

Fantastic introduction to the park. Lots of displays and information about the area & all the volcanic activity. Be sure to stop in the theater to see the video's about the volcano, some very impressive stuff

Kilauea Volcano Visitor Center has very good displays. Good views of the crater with steam. Restrooms are available and there is ample parking. Be sure to visit Kilauea iki Crater. It is possible to walk part of the rim or go down into the crater.

The visitor center at any national park is a must see stop before heading deep into the park. The information is good although some of the interpretive materials need to be updated or repaired. There is a 20 minute video that's worth watching but is dated quite a bit. There is also a small Hawaii Pacific park store housed here... More

Very informative, center tells you everything you need to know and in my case why I was not able to get closer to the crater.... I mean they have such a nice road leading right up to the crater but we cant use it. Due to the gases they keep you a safe distance away which is just far enough... More

You need to stop here to find out where you can and won't be able to get to. This volcano is alive and kicking. What's open today may be closed tonight.
