We drove here from our resort in Lihue on a sunny day. It took us about 30 - 45 minutes to arrive. It was well worth the effort. Hard to describe with words the feeling one gets when visiting this location. The views are magnificent....More

Let me change that answer. That is for the Kilauea Lighthouse. The wildlife refuge isn't really a place you go into. It defines an area around the lighthouse. So it is always open to the birds, and you can come anytime... More
