This is a very good museum with friendly staff. It is well worth a few hours of your time to see the exhibits. Parking can be a challenge, but a visit is well worth while.

Very interesting exhibits when you first walk in, but really came alive with docent Kay, and Uki’i from the gift shop. Wanted to return, but ran out of time.

I have never heard of a "lazy river" on Kauai, especially near the museum, it is in the middle of Lihue town.

Older kids yes, but really its a quiet subdued museum, and fairly small. I think kids would be bored and you would be busy keeping them from getting into things. Good luck
