The local staff made this a fabulous visit. They were very well educated on the history of the area and informative. They guided us through the museum and we enjoyed the video of the history of the island. We were not in a hurry and...More

The museum provided a thorough history of Kauai from ancient Kauai, to more modern pop culture information. Some exhibits, specifically the natural history section lacked updates. The museum packs a bunch of information into compact rooms which can make following a museum 'story line' difficult...More

I know you go to Kauai to beach, snorkel, surf, paddle board, hike and get a tan but if you have 90 min or so check the museum out. Looks small. It a fair bit to see. From ancient Hawaii to the monarchy. Cute little...More

Super nice staff and a real look at the history of the area. Much of the information was unknown after numerous visits to the island.

A great little musem with lots of interesting historic displays and knowledgeable guides. Excellent good quality items in gift shop, including Hawaiian quilts. Uncle Larry sings on Saturday and tells stories about famous visitors to the Islands. Net making is often demonstrated.

After having lived on on Kauai for several years and re-visited may times, I had never been to the museum. So, even though time was short, I snuck in a quick visit...and was very glad I did. Not only was the tourguide very knowledgable (though...More

It sometimes rains in paradise! This was a full afternoon and we didn't exhaust the resources. The docents were cheerful and so helpful and knowledgeable. The exhibits are interesting and offer a lot of information. We will be back.

I have never heard of a "lazy river" on Kauai, especially near the museum, it is in the middle of Lihue town.

Older kids yes, but really its a quiet subdued museum, and fairly small. I think kids would be bored and you would be busy keeping them from getting into things. Good luck
