Great place to snorkel. Lots of fish. Kids and beginners can enter the water on the left side where the bottom is sandy. We saw sea turtles sleeping on shore at night and monk seals napping during the day.

I felt that this beach is not the best with kids. There is a small area that is shielded by water but not all that great for swimming. In order to get out to the little island to see the seals, you deal with rough...More

Ended up here earlier in the day when Lawai beach waves were just too strong today even Poipu had some strong currents today. There was a high surf, dangerous current signs today. The area by the lifeguard stand was quieter so you weren't being pushed...More

Sand blew constantly and was really annoying. A little crowded and lots of kids. Did see some monk seals.

Great beach for family with young kids and less experienced swimmers. There's an area for children and great for snorkeling. Best to get some water shoes and snorkeling gears. In the early morning, you'll be able to see large green sea turtles lounging on the...More

We always take ay least one day to go to this beach. There is ample parking, restrooms and food nearby. There are fresh water outdoor showers when you are done. You can also walk over to the outdoor bar at the nearby Marriott for a...More

It would be good for beginner snorkeling! It is protected by a reef so water is not rough. You need to be aware that in some spots the distance between rock and water surface is very very shallow and you need to be careful... More
