They did a great job. Staff was friendly and personable on all levels. Went out of there way to recommend other local activities and food. Instruction is incredible. Alex was fun, laid back, patient and so knowledgeable. Spent the majority of the 90 minute class in the water. And yes, we all grabbed some waves!

Overall customer service is amazing. From the start of reservations, check-in and lesson was seamless. The instructors were very informative and patient with me as I learned the technique of surfing. I recommend this as a must do on the island.

I had never tried surfing before and was determined to get up on a board while I was on Kauai. I was able to get a spot even though I booked late on Wednesday night for a Thursday, 10 AM lesson. I was nervous that I was going to be terrible at it. Alex started me off with a video... More

Alex was a great instructor. At the end of two hours I was able to stand on the surf board and ride a wave. I recommend wearing watershoes as there are some rocks on he beach.

This was an excellent surf class. My wife and I both ended feeling quite comfortable on a wave by the end of class. Alex was a great instructor, super friendly, knowledgeable and positive. I would 100% recommend this!

Poipu Beach Surf School offered great lessons for a beginner surfer. My husband and I got the semi private lessons (just the two of us) and after a short video at the surf shop we followed our instructor to the beach which was a short drive away. We had to carry our own boards down to the beach, so that... More

Alex was fantastic; you're in for a great lesson if he's your instructor. The lesson started at the Nukumoi Surf Shop which is a very nice store to shop. Everyone that day was very friendly and I recommend this school if you're on the south shore.

They were able to fit us in last minute. Instruction consisted of a video. Lesson started with carry your large heavy surf board 500 ft on your head in high winds down the beach. Now that you are tired, get in the water. Never mind practicing getting up on the surf board, just go for the water. The beach was... More

We took the beginner course and were in no danger of death via wave or shark. On the contrary, we had a blast learning how to stand up on and maneuver a surfboard. We had a great teacher in Alex - he was patient and knowledgeable - and a cool dude.
