One must not leave the island without visiting the Spouting Horn. The higher the waves the greater the effect. There is a wonderful story behind the site. Be sure to set your camera to video for great viewing at a later date.

Spouting Horn is at the end of Lawai Rd., Po'i'u, Kauai HI. It's a volcanic rock formation that spouts water through a blow hole as the surf hits the shoreline. There are restroom facilities. I found it interesting that a number of local vendors are set up daily to sell local items. Their pricing is less than half other shops... More

Worst signage ever! Initial signs out near the highway direct you down the shoreline road. Once on the road, drove all the way until it ended and then back again. NEVER saw another sign regarding location. We do not typically have any problems with directions or finding locations. In this case, drove back and forth, couldn't find signage and then... More

Though one would think this is a short stop, but you would be amazed how much time you spent watching the spout to see the water go up. The tide was not high when we were there, so the water didn't spout high, but that was OK as it was still neet to see. And the coastline is gorgeous in... More

Really quick stop on our way and was super easy. Parking lot with ample parking and a few quick shops set up selling touristy items. Blow hole wasn't incredible like some of the photos but it was worth a quick stop. Took a few photos/videos and were on our way in 10 minutes. Wouldn't recommend driving all the way across... More

In my opinion this just isn't that exciting. The waves come in and push water up through the rocks and it spouts out. I would not go out of my way to see this. If you are already going to be in the area you might as well swing by and check it out but would not plan on staying... More

Go! It's pretty and quick and there are some vendors selling some items I didn't see everywhere. The drive isn't far from the main highway and there is a parking lot.

Great water spouting out on a frequent basis. Beautiful scenery. Nice restrooms. Good parking. The locals have a craft booth set up with lots of things to buy.

Truly awe inspiring and awesome. We could have watched for hours. Loved the sounds of the water as much as seeing it!
