This is one of the best beaches ever to snorkel. Very nice that you just get in the water and can start snorkeling. Usually not to crowded partly because the hike down. It is extremely steep and you really need both hands to hang on...More

Hideaway is more known these days, but because of the somewhat challenging descent (and following ascent) to the beach, it doesn't attract too many at once. Located on the east side of the St. Regis parking lot, look for the dirt/mud trail left of the...More

There's a short yet steep hike down to this paradise. Luckily there are some steps and rope to help, but definitely wear hiking "sports" sandals so you don't lose your footing. The water is crystal clear with lots of viewable reefs. Water shoes or your...More

I'd found out about this spot from reviews on this site prior to our recent Kauai trip. Yay! So glad I did. We stayed at the St. Regis, just steps away from Hideaways. We rented snorkel gear from Hanalei Surf Shop and double checked favorite...More

Quite and we are close to the Hideway Beach. Good snorkeling, has lots of shade and privacy. I would definitely hang out all day.

Beautiful pleasant beach to which you will arrive after a small steep hike. It´s advisable to come here when is not raining as you might slip.

We stayed at the Puu Poa so the entrance was right next to us (also adjacent to the St. Regis). The walk down is a little rugged so wear appropriate shoes and backpack to carry your stuff. You do need to hold on to the...More

If you are lucky enough to find a parking spot, this beach is definitely worth a visit. It had lots of sand, lots of shade available, crystal clear water for snorkeling, and was incredibly scenic. There is a bit of work involved to get down...More

Hideaways (aka Pali Ke Kua beach) is two segments; one side is close to Pali Ke Kua condos (with a steep but paved private path down to the beach); the other segment is closer to St. Regis and has public access. There is a point...More

Our favorite hidden place to go but had to wait for parking this year thanks to the photogenic beach and social media. If people ask just say "Princeville" or "it's too dangerous to visit" that always works for us. The pics speak for themselves.

Hideaways was an awesome experience - very cool secluded beach. The walk down is a little steep but very doable and there is a rope that you can hold on to for support. For parking, I'd recommend parking at the St... More

Hello and thank you in advance for your responses. How is Hideaway Beach in December? Specifically mid December... Is the water rough? Cold? Is it typically quite cloudy and overcast? Thank you again!
