The sign said it would take about 2-3 hours to complete. The sign told no lies! The trail is steep and slippery in some places. There’s no way I would do it in the rain. You’ll need to wear the proper footwear. No flip flops....More

In our 50s, guided by Coco of Kauai Soul Travel, the trail was challenging but quite doable. Views were spectacular. If you are in good shape and have good foot wear and water--do it!!!

Fun hike but nothing to see until the end when you come out of the forest. The canyon views are amazing and the helicopters are below you. The falls are very pretty with 2 view points. The way back is tiring because it’s all uphill.

What an amazing hike! But this hike wasn't quite as moderate as you might believe. We did it with two kids on our backs and some parts were quite difficult, especially if you start the hike at the Pu'u Hinahina Lookout, where we did. Regardless...More

Don't miss the falls and the incredible view! A little tough going in a few spots, but took us just over 2 hours with about thirty minutes of sightseeing at the ridge/falls.

We did this hike and loved the views. We found it to be an easy hike but with recent rainfall I can see how it would be quite a bit more difficult at parts due to the slipping factor. Lovely hike, lovely views and highly...More

Great trail - muddy -- but with fantastic views. We hiked to Waipo'o Falls and had a picnic on the way back.

We did this hike with our 11 and 13 year old. Almost 2 miles each way, lots of ups and downs, and the path has lots of tree roots. It's a little slippery and muddy, but we have hiked far more challenging trails with muddier...More

Hello! I am not familiar with the new spur trail so I would recommend you read up on it. From all of our three weeks in Kauai, we found that the earlier we arrived, the better our chances were of finding parking. Even when... More

TO add to my previous answer and not mix you up with someone else's response...I believe Canyon trail has two entry/exit points from highway as some trails intersect in the canyon!

Maybe some initial part. I would not be comfortable taking a 6-7 year old on this trek as some parts are tricky, although there are kids that age that we saw on the trail.
