Nice hike ..about 2 miles each way with tons of ups and downs. Not the most well maintained, so after rains - one does have to be extra careful regarding muddy and slippery slopes. The vistas towards the end are really quite nice (uploaded some...More

The Canyon Trail hike is about 4 miles out and back and will take 2-3 hours. Yes, it is worth it! If it’s dry and you can drive to the small lot at the trail head, this is a fairly easy hike. Unfortunately you need...More

We hike rarely, only on vacations sometimes. This hike was a bit rough for us but it was completely worth the effort and mud clean up later!!

The views of the canyon are spectacular, and you wind up above the waterfall. There is a smaller waterfall further back along the trail. If you want to go further, you have to cross the stream. We didn’t because we heard that the trail is...More

Good fun exercise in the woods; Bring or make a walking stick when slippery; Not family friendly when muddy; not much view on the way; the arch formation in the end gives some different from the canyon outlook but not as awesome; the waterfall is...More

We hiked sleeping giant, Na Pali Coast, and went to the secret waterfalls, and all were amazing but this was by far my favorite. We were there nice and early and startled a group of mountain goats and got awesome views on a clear day....More

It rained most of this trail and the trail was muddy and pretty slippery. My wife did this in tennis shoes but my waterproof hiking shoes were much better traction and suited for this trail. Plenty of up and down, but the view was amazing....More

This is a moderate hike most of the time but some parts were challenging. It was muddy and a few steep climbs and descents to get to the waterfall. It's a very beautiful hike especially when you come out of the woods and see Waimea...More

It was a very nice trail. In our opinion it was amazing, sometimes not so easy :-) Finally we find a paradise like place. Her you can find some nice spots for pictures and picnic. A strength before it goes back is applied. Have fun!

As a very novice hiker this was a little challenging but well within basic abilities. The rain made for some challenges, see fell down very slippery part of hill and got covered in mud, so would recommend shoes with good tread especially if it has...More

Hello! I am not familiar with the new spur trail so I would recommend you read up on it. From all of our three weeks in Kauai, we found that the earlier we arrived, the better our chances were of finding parking. Even when... More

TO add to my previous answer and not mix you up with someone else's response...I believe Canyon trail has two entry/exit points from highway as some trails intersect in the canyon!

Maybe some initial part. I would not be comfortable taking a 6-7 year old on this trek as some parts are tricky, although there are kids that age that we saw on the trail.
