Waves!
Oct 2021
The last of the Kam Beaches in Kihei as you head south. Smaller, so get there early to grab a parking spot.

The waves are huge and the undertow quite strong, so make sure you are a good and confident swimmer. There is a lifeguard on site who will call out using a megaphone when someone is getting out too far or too near rocks, etc.

Best to put your chairs and such above the beach before you are ready to sit for a while, there's not much beach that the water doesn't get when it's high tide.

Pretty but watch out for the lava rocks
Sep 2021
This is a beautiful beach. It's sandy with outcrops of lava rock and so lots of snorkel opportunity amongst them. I don't know if the lifeguard had to use a megaphone to keep reminding people to stay away from the rocks but he did. Frequently. Oh yes.

Great snorkeling beach
Aug 2021
This was our "house beach", across from our condo. Even if it wasn't so close, we would have come here. The snorkeling is phenomenal. SO.MANY.TURTLES. This was our go-to turtle beach. You see a ton snorkeling, from the beach, swimming. Not a huge beach, but didn't feel crowded, especially compared to Keawakapu. Easy stroll up to 808 Deli to grab lunch. Like most beaches, the wind kicked up after noon, so we made it a habit to get there around 8 to get in a good four hours. Fantastic beach park for sunset viewing.

beautiful and fun
Jun 2021
this beach is across the street from our condo and was our go-to for sunset and play during our stay. clean, good snorkeling, and lifeguard on duty during the day. showers and bathrooms available. food trucks nearby for not-quite-so-expensive food, and lots of families hanging out in the park for evening picnics. highly recommend as a beach to hang out at in Kihei.

Beautiful beach with great snorkeling!
Jun 2021
This beach was within walking distance of our condo, and we went several times. The snorkeling is great in the morning. Enter on the left side and swim south toward the boat launch near the shore. We saw several turtles. The waves were fun in the afternoon, and great sunsets in the evening.

Perfect Place for Professional Photography
Jul 2021 • Couples
Photograher Penny Palmer used this exquisite park and beach to take our pictures. The backdrop provides multiple opportunities to get a variety of shots that showcased us with palms, lava rocks, beach, waves and the beauty that is uniquely Maui. The beach and this artist sure made us look good!

Good in the mornings! Leave by 3.
Jun 2021
Kam 3 was a great beach early! By 2 pm the tide becomes cross current and it was hard to enjoy the serf. Its small and cozy but has an excellent water front. It is not crowded at all. A life guard is on duty. Unfortunately around 5 pm everyday a guy in a truck shows up and blasts his vulgar (foul language) base music. (yes, its EVERY DAY) This is very rude and ruins the normally quiet little beach for everyone else. Hawaii does not have a sound or disturbance ordinance so the locals are stuck with it. LEAVE BY 3 UNLESS YOU LIKE FOUL LANGUAGE BEING BLASTED AT YOU. That being said, it kind of worked out because our day was almost always ending when this guy was showing up.

Great beach
Jun 2021
Very nice, not crowded. Great snorkeling and swimming. Picnic tables, restrooms. Great for stays in Kihei. Better than Makena State Park beach--and you have to pay to park for the state park.

If You Need to Pick Only One, Kamaole Beach 3 is the One.
Jun 2021
We visited all three Kamaole Beaches since they were all within walking distance of our condo. We like this one best. The life guard should get an award for making a serious job also fun and humorous. I suggest going earlier in the day. Sometimes by noon the trade winds can pick up and make the sand blow. There is a nice grassy area too to enjoy the sunset and a walking trail if you want an easy hike. For those with fair complexion, I recommend bringing an umbrella if you can.

Love this park!
Jun 2021 • Family
My family and I stayed across the street from here for our first time in Hawaii. It’s a beautiful park with restrooms and beach amenities. We watched the sunset every night. Beautiful.
