Terrific family beach with smaller but fun waves
Oct 2021
Kamaole Beach Park II was perfect for our grandsons, ages 4, 6, 9 & 11. Waves big enough to play in (0.5-2.5ft), boogie board & body surf a bit, but (except on a few windy afternoons) not big enough to be too dangerous for kids (always with proper close supervision of course, esp the 4yr old). Right across the street from our condo at Maui Banyan. Some street parking, bath house, lifeguard on most days. Nice long stretch of beach, not rocky except at far ends. Can get windy in the afternoons, so go early.

Great beach that wasn't terribly crowded. Excellent beach access for snorkeling and there is a lifeguard on duty at this beach. Great restaurants right across the street when you get hungry. Mooses ha happy hour. Fred's doesn't.

Beautiful Beach for Relaxing with Family
Aug 2021
Like most Maui beaches, this was lovely, and it had the added benefit of restaurants and food trucks nearby, shaded tables for picnicking, and bathrooms rather than port-a-potties. Even without all that, a beautiful, breathtaking beach.

Large beach, local turtles
Jun 2021
The park was great for family BBQs, long beach area, and turtles swimming by regularly. Bathrooms and outdoor showers to rinse off sand are easily accessible.

Clean, family beach
Jul 2021
We stayed in a condo right across the street. This beach is terrific! The morning waves are very gentle until around 10:30. Great for families with little kids. The winds start to pickup and change direction around 10:30. It doesn't make the waves dangerous, in my opinion, but they are definitely bigger. It gets rather windy for the rest of the day, which makes it difficult to have an umbrella while you're chilling on the beach. The beach is clean. There are lifeguards on duty until around 4-5:00. Lots of places to park your beach chair, find some shade, sit in the grassy park area, and have a great time. The sunsets are incredible.

Beautiful place for a sunset
Jun 2021 • Family
Great place for a family. Beautiful sunsets. Initials waves a little big for young kids but get calmer once you get Pat the break. Not a rocky beach - beautiful soft sand bed. Parking not easy.

Turtles everywhere!
Jun 2021
Great beach with picnic tables, restrooms, great sand, sun and surf. We saw several turtles who just swam in between us 3 or 4 feet from the shore. Very good snorkeling near the rocks on either end of the beach and we saw maybe 20 turtles while snorkeling over a couple of days.

Beautiful beach in the heart of Kihei
Apr 2021
This beach was right in walking distance from our timeshare so we often walked on the beach in the mornings. The tide was always very calm, the view was beautiful, & there were always paddle boarders out on the water. If you climb on the lava rocks out to the end of the natural jetty, you'll usually see a couple of sea turtles swimming around!

We stayed right across the street from the beach and the popular wall, this wall is sat on nightly for the most awesome sunset view you can get. We built sandcastles there weekly while on vacation.. awesome sand/beach!

Pretty, but there are better out there

Lifeguards constantly yelling at people ruins the relaxing beach vibe. It's pretty rocky in some areas. We saw some turtles! It's a beautiful beach with great amenities, but there are better ones on Maui.
