We noted a lot of varied exocitic palnts in an interesting setting. Though similar to the Botanical Garden on the big island, it is smaller and has more bird sanctuary and statuary then the Hawaiian State Botanical Garden. This garden shows a lot of the interesting plants found on Maui, it also demonstrates how transplanted species have found a hospitable... More

This is a fairly small botanical garden. We spent an hour there but would have had a hard time stretching it into much more. It's at an elevation that gets quite a bit of rain so bring an umbrella if you have one. It's on a steep hill so this is not good for anyone with a walking problem or... More

Great potential but obviously maintenance has been lagging. Had been here about 30 years ago and frankly, it didn't look like much had been done since. There is a reasonable variety of specimens, but too many of them look as though they've been neglected and not tended to as needed. No deadheading, trimming, pruning, or guidance for the plants. It... More

On the way to the crater--I think it is approximately 6 acres -- Love the tropical flowers and walking through the property. Locally owned and managed.

We stumbled across Kula Botanical Garden while looking for activities in the beautiful Kula Hill Area. Although the garden is only 8 acres, we were immediately amazed by the views of all of Maui. The gardens have a small (and quite reasonably priced) gift shop/restroom area, but the overall experience was centered on the meditative and relaxing natural world. The... More

The garden is in a very beautiful location on the side of the mountain. Nice selection of plants. Takes about 30 minutes to walk. The garden is on a hillside so must be able to do a little climbing.

Joins the list of typically overpriced botanical gardens. We were able to enjoy our visit in 30-40 minutes. We found a handful of plants that interested us along with a couple reptiles. It felt like a single person effort with plenty of areas in need of sprucing up. Fine stop if you've got some time to kill and money to... More

Not all the flowers were in bloom and while there were some blooms, it was pretty green. There is lots to see and you need to be able to climb a little and walk uneven paths. Nevertheless it is quite beautiful and clearly the family running the business works hard to keep the place beautiful. Very worthwhile to visit.

The drive to the Kula Botanical Garden provides great views of the valley and the rolling hills down to the ocean. The garden path is paved, so it is wheelchair and walker accessible. However, it is mostly uphill, so pushing a wheelchair at a higher elevation can be physically taxing. There is an extensive set of plants, some from as... More

This botanical garden is part way up Haleakala volcano. The temperature is about 10 degrees cooler than on the beach. The gardens are clean and nicely kept with many varieties of flowers and plants from various tropical locations around the world. I would recommend this garden to anyone.
