Not my first charter in Maui, First time with Start me up! Will never use anyone else again. Great experience overall very helpful and knowledgeable. We landed a Marlin in the first hour! Best charter experience I have had. The crew were very nice and...More

Arrived at the dock for a 6 hour fishing charter. Our group of 6 was met by Captain Denny. He introduced himself, and invited us onto the boat, which was clean. Explained how the fishing would go, and off we went. David was handling all...More

Very unpleasant fishing trip. We basically paid to sit on a boat and watch while 2 fisherman (John and Josh) trolled for 4 hours. There was no inquiry by the captain as to what our goals or fishing interests were. No change in strategy either....More

6 hour trip. 1 mahi. Nice crew but all about the $$. Clean boat. Nice boat for longer trips, good equipment, hard working mate.

I know everyone says this...there is no guarantee that the fish are biting. However, we paid $1000 for a boat last time we were in Maui and no fish. The other day we said we would try again this trip to Maui so we went...More

We always make time for the 12 hour fishing trip with Captain Timster and Chris. They are entertaining, take the time to teach you how to use the gear, and always bring the fish! Splurge for the 12 hour-- it's so worth it!

My husband & I were on that same trip. Due to the Gale force wind warning from the Coast Guard, the captain made the decision to cut the trip short. WE ALL AGREED to stay out only 4 hrs. The swells were high that day,...More

We signed up for a four hour fishing trip and found the crew very helpful. My only regret was not signing up for a longer time. Even though we didn't catch anything (which is always a crap shoot and there are no guarentees to catch...More

I really don't like to leave adverse reviews unless it is truly warranted. This Company seems to make a living by being dishonest. After one hour into our 8 hour Sport fishing charter, the Captain knew we wouldn't be able to go into the deep...More

The Captain advised all 3 couples sharing the boat that he could continue to fish for 8 hours as planned but it would be rough water or stay closer to shore & shorten the trip to 4 hours. Everyone agreed to the 4 hours including...More

Everyone understands that a deep sea fishing trip isn't always about catching fish. No one can control that. These guys, however, took it one step further. When booking the trip, all sounded great talking to the captain. First thing in the boat, captain says not...More

1. Please explain in detail the actual procedures on the boat - who baits the hook? Do I manage the rod or does the crew always handle the rod then pass it over when there is a fish on the line? What if I want to bait the line? Basically, what if I want to actively fish and not just drive around for 6 hours watching the crew do it? 2. How often will the crew check/change the bait on the line? My expectation is to be able to communicate to the crew to change things up, ask questions, make suggestions - am I going to meet resistance and receive an 'I'm the professional so stop bothering me' attitude? 3. Is there a charge if I want to keep some fish? 4. Is there a charge to clean the fish?

They have lures, crew only to handle rods and lures. If you catch, they hand you rod when you are seated. They do switch lures periodically, they put the lure in the water and you are assigned a rod number. For... More

We are coming to Maui in May looking to possibly reserve a 4 hour fishing trip. Is the fish running good then? What type of Fish do you catch? Do we keep the fish or is it catch and release? What time does the 4 hour fishing trip start?
