We went to Ulalena because our adult children requested it. No regrets. The story of the island and its settlement, the hope the people have for their island and culture, their joy in nature, all played out to amazing song, music and percussion. A hint of Cirque, interpretive dance... so much in this show. Don't miss it. It will help... More

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this show. It was informative without overloading you with lots of facts. The dancing was really nice, and they added in some humor as well. Very entertaining.

Saw the show Ulalena yesterday. The show is visually stunning The Entertainer's are quite good. The dancing was very Hawaiian as was the costumes. Highly recommend you read the program before you watch the play so you can understand it a little better. I would not recommend the show for small children. There is not a bad seat in the... More

This is an interpretive dance program. Music was terrific, as was the dancing. Glad we went, but not something I would do again. I don't think young children would enjoy this. Be sure to read the scene summaries before watching, as it will help understanding the beautiful dancing.

If you have the time to see Ulalena, it is well worth it. The performance gives you insight into the people of Hawaii. It's part mythical, part historical, and 100% wonderful. I would recommend reading the program prior to the show so you fully understand the scenes.

I never thought of Maui as a place to go see cultural performances...I always thought of it as a place to relax and do things outdoors, but my wife dragged me to see this and I was actually pretty impressed. The acrobatics were solid (although don't be expecting Vegas level stuff here) and the performers were passionate. I have no... More

I have to say that I was told that this was going to be similar to Cirque de Soleil so I had high expectations. The music was fantastic! The choreography was also good. The story line is hard to follow. The program gives detail on what is happening in each scene so I would recommend keeping that out and reading... More

From start to finish it was beautiful. Loved to learn about the history of Hawaii. It was so great. We went with a lot of people and everyone loved it. At the end the whole room stood for a standing ovation. So that can tell you definitely recommend for all ages. Stop there to see this play!!!

Like some others we weren't sure what to expect but had told good things about the show. The show is all in Hawaiian and supported by a three man band that was worth watching all by themselves. The performers take you through an artistic interpretation of Hawaiian history and they do a great job. So if you're looking for something... More
