The Best Beach on Maui

Or at least tied with about 15 other beaches. I like this one because I was there age 7 and got rolled up the beach by a wave, so had to go back to experience the same. Sea House... read more

We visited here after breakfast at Gazebo one morning.... lots of rocks and heavy surf. Overall, a small beach, really crowded and nothing spectacular. We stayed in Ka'anaplai and the beach is 10 times nicer....

This is our third trip to Napili beach over the years, and we are rookies compared to the Snowbirds who visit annually over the decades. Although it is about a 2 hour drive to the Kahului Airport, once you are here, there is no need to go further than Lahaina for activities. The accommodations are all 2-story condos and hotel... Beautiful little strip of sand beach that is protected with slightly rocky entry to the water. Easy access to good snorkeling. We saw turtles and an octopus along with all the usual fish in Hawaiian waters. Generally good for beginner or intermediate snorkelers or more advanced if you go out around the rocky outcroppings. Parking your car can be challenging... More

I've been to Napili three times and turtles have been spotted every time. You can see them from the rocks munching on algae or find them while snorkeling. The public access is a little harder to find but you just look where all the cars are parked along the road and follow someone who looks like they know where they're... More

Lots to do on this beach but it is difficult to walk if you have mobility problems. Its a steep beach and when we went it was wavy.

To access the beach, the trail starts out well, but becomes quite narrow and slippery. Entry into Napili Bay is rocky and can be a bit rough in December. The green turtles swimming with you and the fish are not to be missed.

We heard that this was a beautiful beach and good for snorkeling, but when we got there two different couples warned that there was a rift current in the middle of this area. That was enough for us, we packed up and went back to Kapalua beach just down the street.

Easily accessed through the Napilli Kai Resort. Unfortunately, I couldn't snorkel on this trip but folks were saying there was lots to see on the calmer days. Rough days stir up the sandy bottom and restrict visability. Stick to the reefs on either side of the Bay. one fellow reported seeing a turtle. The excellent Seahouse Restaurant is located overlooking... More
