Surfers, kite surfing and turtles - what more can you ask for !
Sep 2021 • Friends
Great experience here - ample parking, apparently one of the best places to wind surf. We sat and watched the surfers and the turtles bob their heads out of the water. There is shelf in the water where the turtles hang out . They come out into the beach in the evening. We didn’t go in the water here, but watched some people try to snorkel in the rough waters there….not the best place to snorkel .

Sea Turtles Beaching Themselves
Sep 2021
We heard this was the place to see turtles on the beach and it was true. There were only a few, but it was pretty neat to see them out of the water and up close.

Lots of turtles

Great place to go if you like seeing turtles! Kids seem to especially love it, and it’s great to see them close up in their natural habitat!

Turtles & surfers!

Almost a sure bet that you’ll see sea turtles napping on the beach and surfers enjoying the water. Go at sunset!

Turtles!

This is such a beautiful beach! You can snorkel here and swim with the turtles. I went back multiple times because I liked it so much. It was also surprisingly uncrowded.

So many sea turtles!
Jul 2021
So many sea turtles! And a local said that wasn't even very much for this time of year. My kids were in the water watching a sea turtle launch, awaiting to see where he would go and he swam right in between them! This was definitely the highlight of their entire trip!

Watching the surfers was fun too! It was such a beautiful beach.

Sea Turtles
Jul 2021
The beach is pretty good, though very rough at times, good amount of parking and bathrooms, but honestly the best part is the sea turtles. On the far east end their is a large group of turtles. You can't get too close but some do come to the barrier for good photo opportunities.

A nice stop along the way to Hana
Jun 2021
Ample parking and plenty to see here ! Nice view of the surfers and apparently
the green sea turtles too. There is an upper parking lot and a lower lot near the beach. Looked very popular and so close to Paia.

Unexpected Adventure!
Jun 2021
We didn't expect to stop, but needed a restroom break. Parking was easy & the restrooms were clean & sufficient.

Afterwards, we watched the surfers & the wandered up the hill to check out the tide pools. Follow the fence to the end where you can then walk out onto the jetty. You can then climb down to the tide pools & check out the critters. My husband ventured to the right side of the jetty and practically walked right into the monk seal basking in the sun.

In the tide pools are small tropical fish, crabs, sea cucumbers, corals, and are just cool teaming for life. Water shoes are advised.

Easy spot to see sea turtles
Jun 2021 • Family
We always come by here after Mam’s Fish House to see the sea turtles. Usually at least a dozen laying in the sand or swimming near the rock side of beach. Easy and ample parking.
