    Surfers to watch!
The views on this beach are so nice! We watched surfers take the waves. It is pretty rocky between the sand and the waves, so not sure it is a great place to swim but a beautiful place to sit back and watch the waves.

    Go to the Lookout Point
The beach was filled with a good amount of locals and tourists. The views were fabulous of the beach, surfers, wind surfers and just the crashing of the waves. Spent most of the time at the look out and walked to the point where there was a good amount of exposed rock that created shallow areas where people could enter into the water. There were turtles poking their heads above the water and the crashing of the waves made the environment one to sit, watch and enjoy. A great visit

    Always an Exquisite Stop
Always a must stop to see the waves, the wind surfers and the fabulous turtles resting on the sand. Park on top and walk down on the road to the beach. There is a great overlook above the sand or you can walk to the roped off area which protects the turtles. Yesterday there were over 40 turtles resting, going in and out of the water and…being turtles!

    Turtles!!!
We took the Molokai crater snorkel tour and saw no turtles, although the snorkeling was fun. Here we saw at least a dozen turtles. The locals in Kihei suggested to go here to see turtles. Watching the surfers and wind surfers was cool. Parking on top and walking down is the best way to go.

    Never disappoints !
Sun, surf and turtles. Turtles coming and going in and out of the water are endlessly fun to watch. There can be giant waves or medium waves but there’s always a few really proficient surfers to watch. If you stay long enough you will get to see the lifeguard go in after some newbie in the water. Great place to picnic and wade.

    Sea Turtles Galore
A great place to see Sea Turtles, especially if you're not a scuba diver willing to brave the ocean surf. They come and rest right on the beach. No daunting hike required either. An added bonus is the beautiful ocean break and rock formations. I believe this is where they do the JAWS surf competition. We also saw wind surfers, wildflowers and painters. There is a BBQ area for families if you want to make a day of it. Or just stop in for a quick photo op with the turtles. And there is a local sea lion that inhabits the beach as well near the lifeguard surf shack.

    Sea turtles
We arrived around noon and found a parking spot. There were so many see turtle there. When far away, they looked like black rocks, When we walked along the beach, then we realized there were about 14 turtles on the beach.

Stop here for views, surf activity, and turtles
We were actually at the Ho’okipa Lookout watching surfers, kiteboarders, and turtles on the beach. We walked to the north end of the parking lot and walked out on to the rocks. It was a beautiful evening and we listened to the currents hitting the rocks and the activity on the water. Took some short videos to keep the water vibrant in our minds.

Worth a stop - turtles and surfers!
We stopped for a look late afternoon on a Saturday. It was very busy with many surfers and windsurfers as well as families in the water. The water was too rough for us novice ocean swimmers, but there was a lifeguard onsite directing people on how to get in and out of the surf. We managed to get a parking spot at the top of the cliff and after watching the surfers for several minutes, walked down to the beach. We saw a handful of sea turtles, many of them active - some coming into the beach, others timing the waves to get back into the ocean and others flipping sand on their backs to cool themselves off. It was a fun stop with lots to see that made it worthwhile.

Gorgeous views of ocean, turtles, surfers, monk seals (all well protected)
Lovely place to watch surfers, see turtles, and maybe a monk seal hanging out. We parked in the upper parking area (pro-tip: skip that port-a-potty! Yikes). Bathroom facilities near the main beach area are heavily used but still in decent shape. Lots of kiddos and families in the tide pools, but beyond that this is not a swimming beach unless you are a strong/prepared swimmer/surfer. Lovely for beach strolls and people watching too.

We arrived around 3:30 or so and stayed for an hour sitting on a beach blanket and watching the gorgeous waves and surfboarders. I was hoping to see 40-60 turtles.
There were way more than that! Turtles covered an area of the beach. I stopped counting around 50 and I hadn't even counted 1/2 of them yet.

People living on the island including staff at our hotel described this as "must see" if you'd like to see giant turtles, some of them 1000+ years old. They were right!

The area were the turtles climb onto and rest on the beach is roped off and fortunately at least when we were there, people respected this. The turtles are incredible.

LOTS of people know about this and the parking lot isn't huge, so you may have to walk 5-10 minutes. But that's ok. This is a free, 5 star attraction. We had 11 year old grandchildren who were fascinated. This is one of those rare free attractions that that is great for people of any age.

This place was suggested to us by a Maui Aquarium docent, when we asked for a good place to see turtles in their natural habitat. Located about 10 minutes from the airport, the perfect place to stop when you have some time before check-in. Turtles, turtles, turtles, surfers, surfers, surfers, and the most beautiful coastline. So glad we there!

Holy TURTLES!!!

We thought we were lucky to see so many turtles when we were snorkelling on the other side of the island in Kihei, but when we walked down to this beach I counted 80, yes 8-0 turtles laying on the beach!

It was incredible. Really cool to see many bathing in the sun, and others heading out to the ocean, while others were coming in to dry off and sun bathe.

Really memorable.

Bonus is that you can also watch some awesome surfing at the same time! I could’ve stayed and watched this beach for hours 😁

Highly recommend!!

A lot of surfing happening and a lot of waves splashing around great rock formations just off the coast. Good vantage point to watch the ocean.

Great spot while driving the coast. Parking was not too hard to find and we had plenty of room to just lay and watch turtles swim.

We happened on this beach and found a beach full of the green sea turtles. It’s a great place to snorkel, surfboard, and wind sail.

Turtles, tide pooling and surfer viewing! We heard tide pooling at high tide was better but weren’t able to make it. Kids age 7 & 9 loved it!
