How lucky we were to be in Kaunakakai to join in Molokai's celebration of Veteran's day. We really felt that we were with a community who cared deeply for their veterans and all veterans of all wars. Lei clad dignitaries and members of the VFW conducted the proceedings. Best of all were the keiki (little kids) who managed to do... More

Kaunakaki is a very small town on the small, but very Hawaiian Island of Molokai. The entire island only houses about 7000 people, but they remember and respect those who have served the islands and the country. The memorial itself only occupies a small, but beautifully maintained triangle of land on the east side of town. The original memorial was... More

We were dropped off here for a30 minute stop in a 20 minute town. Tor drivers words, not mine. Interesting tourist trap stores, but this memorial was the prettiest and most well maintained stop in the town!

The other reviewers summed the park up perfectly. It's a small piece of land in Kaunakakai with a monument honoring those who sacrificed for our country. I stopped to take a few pictures and a local gentleman came over and struck a very nice conversation with me. We talked about a few different things, but it just goes to show... More

Exactly as Nahanni described - a tiny park at the end of a tiny main street on this tiny island. I just noticed this 'attraction' on TA and realized that I recently took some photos of this monument while walking by. As you can see it's a tiny but pretty park - the monument, flags and canons at the road's... More

Though this is a small memorial ALL WAR MEMORIALS are important. Take a few minutes and stop and read the names and say some prayers for the fallen soldiers and their families! Without them we would not have this great country!

This small war memorial is simple, but moving nonetheless. It is very well done. The park is only a few yards across. Take a few minutes to think about those who served. We did.
