We ventured north on one day and stopped here to walk along the beach. I can see where it could be crowded, but heading north you avoid the average tourist crowd. Typical beach trash can be found with many helpful locals!

We ended up rending a house that was only 1.5 blocks away from the Kalama Beach Park. We felt so lucky to be so close to such a beautiful beach. The parking lot as mentioned by others is extremely small so it was nice that we could just walk there. I didn't really look to see what amenities were around... More

We rented a vacation home one block away. The beach was a short walk and easy access. Not to much parking so get there early. Very private and not crowded. Morning walks are quiet and views are stunning. Evenings are beautiful and soothing. Love this beach. I recommend this place for sure. 👍😎

Small, rolling waves, sandy bottom, and beautiful view of the whole bay. It's got quite a bit of little bits of garbage (mostly plastic) due to the current, but bring a bag and help the environment by picking some up as you walk along. Not much shade, no toilets, and no fast food. There are very few access trails.

Kalamas Beach is the best surf spot at Kailua Bay - when the conditions are right. Quite often good for body surfing or with boogie board. Parking sometimes tight. Parking in neighborhood - please respect privacy of residents! Wide open beach. Great for kids. No food or drinks available - bring your own and please clean up when you leave.... More

For us THE beach to visit: white sand, flat access to the sea, big waves allowing surfing, NOT crowded at all, perfect for families.

This is a nice secluded beach. Best part is did not see any homeless there. My wife and I liked it so much that we went almost every day once we found it. Parking is limited, so get there early.

Stayed on the beach for two weeks. There is not much parking, but there are not many people either. If you have a lot of time on O'ahu and do not want to be surrounded by people, this is a great place to go. It is much more a residential beach than a tourist beach. There are showers and bathrooms.... More

Still in Kailua but a beautiful beach that is away from the usual crowds who visit Kailua or Lanikai beaches
