One of the top Hawaii attractions includes the Polynesian Cultural Center, which features a 42-acre facility on the North Shore of Oahu. Founded in 1963, the nonprofit Center was created so that the students of nearby Brigham Young University Hawaii could work their way through college by sharing their island heritage with visitors. The students come from an area that covers approximately 12 million square miles of the Pacific Ocean.

We enjoyed the PCC. It was wonderful to see so many student volunteers proudly preserving and displaying their cultural history. It was a hot day, so we needed to be mindful of that during our tour. The tour guide made things much easier and we had a pretty full experience, including a luau dinner show and the large show at... More

Our family of 16 visited the PCC the end of June and we enjoyed the Super Ambassadors (SAs) Package. The cost for this category is high but I believe you do "get what you pay for." We had a special air conditioned greeting area for the SAs where we were met by our private tour guides and received our Kuala... More

We spent all day at the Cultural Center which was too long. I would recommend 3 hours plus nightly show. Do NOT eat at the buffet. With that said, the "breath of life" show was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Aloha, Thank you for spending some time at the Polynesian Cultural Center. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves for the most part! It seems like you opted for the Island Buffet for your dining choice. On your next visit I would recommend attending our Ali'i Luau, which is renowned for being a delicious, authentic, family-friendly dining experience. Additionally, if you have... More

The food we had was great (prime rib, mashed potatoes, pork and other options such as chicken etc.) the show started at 730 and was very entertaining. It was much better than the Luau we went to a few days prior (much bigger production value). No drinking allowed, it's a family place with a Disney World feel to it

Aloha Daje, Thank you for coming to our Ali'i Luau and Ha: Breath of Life night show! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves. If you didn't have a chance to experience the villages during the day, I'd recommend returning to explore them. Many great educational opportunities and hands-on experiences are found at the villages. Thank you again for coming, and... More

The whole setup is very touristy. We used PPC's shuttle. Our guide was engaging and very funny--but that was about the only good thing and it went downhill from there. He talked us into paying extra $25 per person for a guide (himself) to show us around in PPC. There were different shows in the park and we are not... More

I tend to seek cultural experiences when traveling. The Polynesian Center definitely delivered a vast selection of South Pacific activities, demonstrations and shows. My daughters weaved a fish from palm leaves, twirled poi balls, tossed Maori sticks, pounded taro into poi and rowed an outrigger canoe. The center is divided into different Polynesian Islands. Each section is constructed in that... More

Aloha, Thank you so much for bringing your family to the Polynesian Cultural Center! I'm glad your kids enjoyed doing all the interactive, hands-on activities. After reading all the glowing reviews and how it is a must see/visit I left disappointed. I guess it was not what I was expecting. First off it strikes me as being very spendy. There are little villages set up to mimic assorted Polynesian cultures and they are all staffed by young BYU Hawaii students and at various times they... More
